Pre and post travel detox

Today traveling is part of our lives and there is no surprise that it has its price. What is happening when we are 10,000 metres up in the sky? Air is drier up there, we are exposed to cosmic radiation and plus breath the recycled air in the aircraft.

The blood circulatory system delivers nutrients and oxygen to all cells in our body. The lymphatic system works as a drainage system across the whole body and removes excess fluid and toxins. If the excess fluid is not removed, then toxins begin to build up causing swelling in the body. In order to detox well lymph should move in the system that is restricted by limited movement and low water level in the body. Being in the aircraft slows down the lymph drastically. That is what causes swollen feet and unpleasant heaviness.

To easy flight syndrome it is best to do juice detox the day before you take off. Also I want to stress that you have to skip the meal in the aircraft – usually it does not taste good, is not healthiest and is microwaved. Grab with you some carrot and cucumber sticks, nuts, energy bars. During the flight you drink lots of water in order to keep your lymph moving. You will feel lightness and your jet lag will not be so strong. Also it is ideal if you do the juice detox the day you return. Along with juicing, dry brushing helps moving lymph. It will be very relaxing, once you get back from the journey, if you do dry brushing and take a bath with little bit of soda to help combat radiation and include a few drops of lavender essential oil.
